Calling all nerds. This is a documentary about crossword puzzles, focusing on both the popularity of the New York Times versions compiled by editor Will Shortz and and the build up the to the 2005 Crossword Puzzle Championships in Stamford, CT. The film luckily focuses only half of its attention on the dorks who compete, and trust me these are some really dorky people, and the other half on celebs who enjoy the puzzles like Jon Stewart, Bill Clinton and Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina. I found the creation of the puzzle to be the most fascinating element explored.
